About our Salve

We are garden lovers who’ve been growing calendula and making salve to give as gifts for a decade. After years of wonderful feedback and encouragement, we are branching out to share our healing salve with you!

Our calendula plants are started from heirloom seeds collected every autumn. Plants are grown in a community garden using biodynamic and organic principles, in order to protect our soil, water and pollinators, while producing the most potent flowers possible. We harvest blooms by hand several times a week, which encourages plants to blossom all summer long.

Flowers are air-dried and then cold-infused in oil for a month. This slow process ensures maximum absorption of medicinal properties into the oil. Our salve is blended in small batches, using high-quality ingredients intended for skincare.

What is Calendula?

Calendula officinalis (also known as Pot Marigold) is a member of the daisy family. It’s a medicinal and culinary herb with edible leaves and flowers that are also beautiful in a vase.

Calendula blossoms have gentle healing powers that include anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, astringent, antifungal, and antiviral properties. Calendula is wonderful for sensitive skin!

Applications for calendula salve include:

  • moisturizing face and body

  • healing cuts and scrapes

  • soothing rashes such as eczema

  • caring for new tattoos

  • providing a barrier cream in cold weather

NOTE! Calendula salve may cause a reaction for anyone allergic to plants in the daisy family (like ragweed).
